Among subjects who took the test in solitude, their heart rate went up from an average of 73.6 bpm to an average of 86.3 bpm, an approximately 20% increase. Their respiration rate also went up from 15.2 breaths per minute to 17.2, approximately a 13% increase. However, when subjects took the test in groups, there was no increase on average in either of those measurements, with the heart rate being an average of 95.3 bpm and respiration being 16.7 breaths per minute before and after the test.
