Subjects, before taking the test, had their heart and respiration rates measured by a medical professional who agreed to help with the test. The subjects were then divided into two groups. The first group went into a dark room one at a time, watched a short presentation on a computer, and then left and had their heart and respiration rates measured again. This was done for the second group as well, except they went in two at a time. While going in pair, subjects were allowed to communicate with each other during the test as they pleased.
